The University of Cross River State (UNICROSS) has released an important notice for all students who are beneficiaries of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND). The university is urging students to update their bank account details to ensure they receive their upkeep allowance without delays.
According to the announcement, NELFUND has started paying upkeep allowances directly to students’ bank accounts. However, students who registered with digital wallet platforms like Opay, Palmpay, or Moniepoint are facing issues because NELFUND now requires commercial bank accounts for disbursements. To resolve this, UNICROSS has advised affected students to update their bank details on the NELFUND portal.
To update your details, visit the official NELFUND website at https://nelf.gov.ng and raise a support ticket. Alternatively, you can report the issue through the IT office at your campus. The IT office will collect all related cases and forward them to NELFUND for resolution. The university emphasized that students must act quickly to avoid missing out on their payments.
UNICROSS also encouraged students to help their peers who may need assistance with the update process. For further inquiries, students can contact NELFUND via email at info@nelf.gov.ng or through their official social media platforms: X (@nelfund), Instagram (@nelfund), and Facebook or LinkedIn (Nigerian Education Loan Fund – NELFUND).
This update follows NELFUND’s recent efforts to clear payment backlogs for over 3,600 students who updated their bank details to commercial bank accounts. The agency is working to make the student loan process more reliable and inclusive for all beneficiaries.
