How to Check Your Admission Status

Right now, there is only one official route to confirm your status, and that is the JAMB CAPS portal. Here is the step-by-step rundown:

  • Go to the JAMB EFacility portal.
  • Log in with your JAMB username and password.
  • Scroll down until you see Check Admission Status.
  • Tap on Access my CAPS.
  • Finally, click on Admission Status to know if you have been offered a spot at UNICROSS.

If you see “Admission Still in Progress” or “Not Admitted,” don’t panic. Keep checking. Sometimes these things change quietly overnight, like Lagos traffic easing up when you least expect it.

What to Do After Admission is Offered

Those who got lucky should take action quickly:

  • Accept or reject the offer by sending ACCEPT or REJECT to 55019 or 66019 using the phone number tied to your JAMB profile.
  • Once accepted, print out your JAMB admission letter.

Without that letter, your admission is like rice without stew, incomplete.

UNICROSS has opened online screening for UTME and Direct Entry applicants for the 2025/2026 session. If you chose the school as your first choice and scored 150 or more, you can apply now. Keep reading for full steps and what documents to upload.

The University of Cross River State (UNICROSS) has kicked off its Post-UTME and Direct Entry registration for the 2025/2026 academic year.

If you chose UNICROSS as your first choice in the 2025 UTME and scored 150 or above, you’re eligible to apply.

Both UTME and Direct Entry applicants must register online, and there’s no need to travel to any campus.

Screening Fee and Payment Options

The screening fee is ₦2,000. You can pay with:

  • Your ATM card (MasterCard, Visa or Verve)
  • Or visit any commercial bank to pay through Remita via the school portal

Steps to Apply

  1. Go to the UNICROSS website
  2. Click on the Post UTME link or go straight to the application portal
  3. Follow the instructions and complete the form
  4. After submission, print your application slip

Required Documents to Upload

Make sure to scan and upload these:

  • Passport photo (white or red background)
  • 2025 UTME result
  • WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB results
  • Scratch card for result checking
  • Birth certificate
  • Certificate of origin (optional)
  • Direct Entry candidates should also upload ND, NCE, HND or BSc certificates

UNICROSS Calls NELFUND Beneficiaries to Update Bank Details for Smooth Loan Disbursement

The University of Cross River State (UNICROSS) has released an important notice for all students who are beneficiaries of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND). The university is urging students to update their bank account details to ensure they receive their upkeep allowance without delays.

According to the announcement, NELFUND has started paying upkeep allowances directly to students’ bank accounts. However, students who registered with digital wallet platforms like Opay, Palmpay, or Moniepoint are facing issues because NELFUND now requires commercial bank accounts for disbursements. To resolve this, UNICROSS has advised affected students to update their bank details on the NELFUND portal.

To update your details, visit the official NELFUND website at https://nelf.gov.ng and raise a support ticket. Alternatively, you can report the issue through the IT office at your campus. The IT office will collect all related cases and forward them to NELFUND for resolution. The university emphasized that students must act quickly to avoid missing out on their payments.

UNICROSS also encouraged students to help their peers who may need assistance with the update process. UNICROSS Registration Procedure for Newly Admitted Student 2024/2025. The school management of the University of Cross Rivers State (UNICROSS), formerly Cross River University of Technology (CRUTECH) have released the names of candidates offered admission into its various degree programmes for the 2024/2025 academic session.

INSTRUCTIONS TO ADMITTED CANDIDATES

All newly admitted students into degree programmes in University of Cross River State (UNICROSS) who have already accepted their admission on JAMB CAPS that payment of Acceptance fees for the 2024/2025 Academic Session will commence on Monday 9th September, 2024.

All new students are expected to pay a non-refundable Acceptance Fee of Twenty Five Thousand Naira (N25,000.00) Only. (This payment qualifies you to print Acceptance of Admission Form UNICROSS Admission Letter and School Fee Chart)

PROCEDURE FOR PAYMENT OF ACCEPTANCE FEE

  1. Log on to www.unicross.edu.ng

  2. Click on eduportal

  3. Type in your JAMB Registration Number

  4. Enter your valid Email Address and Phone number

  5. in the New Student Text Box, then click on proceed.

  6. Your Student Payment Code (SPC) will display on the screen and also sent to your registered phone number.

  7. Click on Acceptance fee, enter your Student Payment Code (SPC) on the text box provided, then click on proceed

  8. Select your level, then click on proceed.

  9. Choose your method of payment.

  10. After payment of acceptance fee, click on get Acceptance/Admission Letter

  11. Follow the instruction to print your Acceptance Form, UNICROSS Admission and Fee Chart.

About UNICROSS

University of Cross River State (UNICROSS), formerly, Cross River University of Technology with the acronym CRUTECH was established in August 2002 by Cross River State Bill No. 9, which was amended as Bill No. 6 of 2004. The University is the outcome of the merger of three former tertiary institutions: The Polytechnic of Calabar, Calabar, The College of Education, Awi, Akamkpa and the Ibrahim Babangida College of Agriculture, Ovonum, Obubra, all owned by the Government of Cross River State of Nigeria.

The University took off in October 2002 with five campuses located in Calabar, Akamkpa, Obubra, Ogoja and Okuku dotted over a distance of well over 300 kilometers from one end to the other. In September 2008, the University lost the campus at Akamkpa, leaving it with four. It did not, however, lose the programmes run in the campus at Akamkpa as they were transferred to the campus in Calabar. The Faculties, Departments and programmes in the multi-campus university are presently distributed in the various campuses.

  6. Candidates who have been offered admission are to proceed to click “ACCEPT” or “REJECT” to indicate acceptance or rejection of the admission offer.

Successfully admitted students can now proceed to ACCEPT their admission offer on JAMB CAPS Portal
