LASU Pre-Degree Admission Form 2025/2026 Released

Lagos State University is inviting applications for its 2025/2026 Pre-Degree Studies programme starting October 2025 at the Epe campus. The one-year residential course helps candidates fix O’Level gaps and prepare for UTME, with a direct quota for successful students. Read below for requirements, benefits, and how to apply.

If you’ve been staring at your O’Level result wondering how to get into university without starting from scratch, Lagos State University might just have opened a door. The Pre-Degree Studies (PDS) programme for the 2025/2026 session is now on, and the idea is simple — give you a second shot at both WAEC/NECO and UTME, but with serious backup.

The catch? It’s a full-year residential programme. You’ll be based at the LASU Epe campus, books in one hand and hostel keys in the other.

Why This Programme Matters

Truth is, many students who take UTME from home don’t make it through the general admission scramble. PDS students, on the other hand, get an inside lane — a quota set aside just for them once they pass UTME. The training is heavy, the practice is constant, and the results speak for themselves.

In the last round, 89% of PDS students scored 200 or higher in UTME, and some even went past 300. Not bad for a year’s work.

Admission Requirements

Before you start daydreaming about campus life in Epe, check these boxes:

  • At least three credit passes in SSCE, GCE, or NECO from: Mathematics, English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Government, Economics, Literature, CRS, IRS, or Accounting.
  • Credits must be in no more than two sittings.
  • You’ll write a qualifying exam if you meet the entry points.
  • Be ready to study subjects such as Mathematics, English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Government, Economics, Literature, CRS, IRS, or Accounting.

Moving from PDS to 100 Level

Getting into PDS is only step one. To jump to 100 level, you must:

  • Sit for UTME and meet the JAMB cut-off for your course.
  • Pass LASU’s own screening.
  • Fix any O’Level gaps by retaking WAEC or NECO.

Once you clear all that, you could land a spot in faculties like Engineering, Science, Management Sciences, Education, Social Sciences, Law, Agriculture, Transport, Mass Communication, Nursing, Dentistry, or Medicine.

How to Apply

The form costs ₦15,000.

  1. Visit the LASU website and choose MAKE PAYMENT at the top.
  2. After payment, register online.
  3. Application closes six weeks from publication date.
  4. Qualifying exam and interview dates will be announced later.

Key Notes

  • It’s residential — you must live on campus.
  • Don’t pay money to anyone outside the official payment channel.
  • For details, call Prof. Lawal on 08033882172.
  • Apply via the LASU PDS application portal.

  • For O’level grading: A1 = 10 points, B2 = 9 points, B3 = 8 points, C4 = 7 points, C5 = 6 points, C6 = 5 points.
  • To calculate your aggregate score: Divide your UTME score by 8 (e.g., 250/8 = 31.25) and add your O’level points (e.g., 3 A1s and 2 B2s = 3×10 + 2×9 = 48). Total = 31.25 + 48 = 79.25%.
  • Medicine and Dentistry require one sitting, and competitive courses like Medicine (240), Nursing (220), and Law (195) may have higher departmental cut-off marks.
