BUK Departmental Cut-Off Marks for 2025/2026 Released

BUK has released the cut-off marks for 2025 admissions. This guide explains what those numbers mean, what to do if you missed your mark, and how to stay ready. Read to the end so you don’t miss anything.

BUK finally dropped the cut-off marks. The tension had been thick, and now it’s clearer — sort of.

Some scores will make you shout, some will leave you confused, and others might straight-up break your heart. A 160? That’s doable. A 240? Well, that one is for the warriors.

I remember staring at mine back in the day. I passed, but not by much. Just enough to breathe again. These numbers, they don’t care how many sleepless nights you had. They just sit there, staring back, and deciding who gets a seat and who doesn’t. Cruel but true.

What Cut-Off Marks Actually Mean

They’re not guesses. They’re not pity scores. BUK looks at past results, how many people applied, how many they can admit, and then they pick numbers that’ll filter the crowd.

Sometimes the score for a course goes up with no explanation. Last year, Nursing needed 200. This year? Boom, it’s 220. No warning, no “dear student” note. Just vibes and a sharp increase.

So if your score didn’t reach the number next to your course, it’s not a debate. You’re out for that course. The only option? Regroup.

If you’re unsure how to start screening, check out how to apply for BUK Post UTME screening. It’ll save you stress.

Bayero University, Kano has set the ball rolling. The online screening form for the 2025/2026 admission season is now out.

If you’re hoping to join BUK this year, don’t wait till the last minute. Deadlines creep up fast.

From 30th September to 1st December 2024, candidates who picked BUK as their first choice in JAMB can register online. But there’s more to it than just clicking a few buttons.

Are You Eligible?
