Rev. Fr. Moses Orshio Adasu University, Makurdi has fixed its Post-UTME screening for 29–30 August 2025. The test is for UTME candidates in selected courses who meet the cut-off. See details below for venue, time, and requirements.

Benue State University may have a new name, but the admission rush is still the same. Now known as Reverend Father Moses Orshio Adasu University, Makurdi, the school has rolled out its timetable for this year’s Post-UTME screening. And yes, the dates are locked in — no guesswork.

The Computer-Based Test is set for Friday, 29 August and Saturday, 30 August 2025. Both days start bright and early at 8:00 am. If you’re on the list, better set two alarms.

Who the Test is For

This round is strictly for UTME candidates who:

  • Registered for the Post-UTME
  • Applied for any of these programmes:
    • MBBS
    • BN. Nursing Science
    • Radiography and Radiation Science
    • Medical Laboratory Science
    • Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D)
    • Law (LL.B)
  • Met the cut-off mark for their chosen course

If you registered for other programmes, you won’t write the CBT. Your screening will be based on your SSCE grades.

What to Bring

  • Post-UTME registration and payment receipt printouts
  • Original UTME printout showing your subject combination, aggregate score, and coloured passport photo

What Not to Bring

  • Bags, mobile phones, or any item not recommended for the hall — those will only get you turned back at the door.

Benue State University Sets Date for Orientation and 32nd Matriculation Ceremony

Benue State University (BSU), Makurdi, has released the schedule for its Orientation Exercise and 32nd Matriculation Ceremony for the 2023/2024 academic session. The events are designed to welcome new students and formally introduce them to the university community. The orientation will take place from Tuesday, 20th August 2024, to Thursday, 22nd August 2024, while the matriculation ceremony is scheduled for Friday, 23rd August 2024. These events mark an important step for fresh students as they begin their academic journey at BSU.

  • Orientation Exercise
    • Date: Tuesday, 20th August 2024 to Thursday, 22nd August 2024
    • Venue: BSU premises, Makurdi
    • Purpose: The orientation programme is designed to help new students settle into university life. It will introduce them to BSU’s rules, facilities, and academic expectations. Students will meet faculty members, learn about campus resources like libraries and laboratories, and get guidance on how to succeed in their studies.
  • 32nd Matriculation Ceremony
    • Date: Friday, 23rd August 2024
    • Time: 9:00 AM
    • Venue: New Convocation Square, BSU, Makurdi
    • Details: The matriculation ceremony officially welcomes new students into the university. It includes regular freshmen for the 2023/2024 academic session, as well as Sandwich and Part-Time freshmen for the 2020/2021, 2021/2022, and 2022/2023 academic sessions. During the ceremony, students will take the matriculation oath, pledging to uphold the university’s values and rules.

Important Requirements for Freshmen

To participate in the matriculation ceremony, new students must complete the following:

  • Complete Registration: All registration formalities, including payment of tuition fees, must be finalized by Friday, 26th July 2024. Late registration will prevent students from taking part in the matriculation ceremony, which is a mandatory requirement for all new students.
  • Verify and Accept Admission: Students must confirm their admission on the JAMB Central Admission Processing System (CAPS). Failure to do so will result in the forfeiture of their admission offer.
  • Matriculation Gown: Students are required to wear academic gowns for the ceremony. To obtain a gown, students must pay a non-refundable fee of N2,000 to either Fidelity Bank Plc (account number: 5030023693) or Zenith Bank (account number: 1011136506). After payment, students should contact their Faculty Officers, Secretaries of the Sandwich Programme, or the Centre for Continuing Education to collect their gowns.
  • Seating Arrangement: Matriculating students must be seated at the New Convocation Square by 8:30 AM on the day of the ceremony.

Additional Information

  • Lecture-Free Days: The days of the orientation (20th to 22nd August 2024) and the matriculation ceremony (23rd August 2024) will be lecture-free for all fresh undergraduates. This allows students to fully participate in the events without academic conflicts.
  • Admission Status: The 2023/2024 admission process has closed. JAMB has started the 2024/2025 admission exercise as of 18th July 2024. Students who have not yet completed their registration should use this period to finalize all requirements.
