The Petroleum Training Institute (PTI) in Effurun, Delta State, has opened applications for its Certificate Programmes for the 2025/2026 academic session. Who Can Apply?
To be eligible for these certificate programmes, candidates must have:

A minimum of five O’level credits, including English Language, Mathematics, and three other relevant subjects from WAEC, NECO, or GCE, obtained in not more than two sittings.

Candidates with relevant work experience or additional qualifications may have an advantage, but specific requirements vary by programme. Check the PTI admission prospectus for details.
How to Apply
Applying for the PTI Certificate Programmes is simple and can be done online. Follow these steps:

Visit the PTI website at www.pti.edu.ng.

Go to the “Programmes Menu,” select “Certificate Programmes,” and click “Apply Here.”

Fill in the “FULL-TIME Applicant Sign On” page and click “Sign Up” at the bottom. Make sure to write down your username and password for future use, then click “Submit.”

You will be directed to the Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) page to generate a unique RRR code. Print this page and take it to any bank to pay the non-refundable application fee of N15,000.

After payment, return to the PTI website, click on “Students’ Menu,” and select “Applicant Login.”

Log in with your username and password, complete the online application form, and print it out. This form, along with your RRR code printout, must be presented at the examination or interview centre.

Entrance Examination for General Welding
Candidates applying for the General Welding Certificate Programme will need to take an entrance examination. The date for this exam will be announced later, and candidates are advised to arrive at the Petroleum Training Institute, Effurun, Delta State, a day before to confirm their exam venue.

The application fee for the certificate programmes is N15,000, and it is non-refundable.

Online applications are open from June 17, 2025, to August 9, 2025. Late registration will run from August 10, 2025, to August 18, 2025.

The screening and interview for the Commercial Diving Programme will take place from August 19 to August 23, 2025, at PTI, Effurun.
