JAMB Sets June 28, 2025, for UTME Mop-Up Exam

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) mop-up exam will take place on Saturday, June 28, 2025. This special exam is for candidates who couldn’t take part in the main UTME or resit exams due to issues like biometric verification failures or absence.

According to JAMB’s spokesperson, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, about 96,838 candidates will sit for this mop-up exam across 183 centres nationwide. This includes 5,096 candidates who faced technical issues during the main exam and 91,742 others who missed either the main or resit exams. JAMB has made it clear that this opportunity is only for 2025 UTME candidates.

To prepare, candidates are advised to print their examination notification slips starting from Monday, June 23, 2025. You can do this by visiting the official JAMB portal at https://slipsprinting.jamb.gov.ng/PrintExaminationSlip and entering your JAMB registration number, email, or phone number. The slip will show your exam centre and time. JAMB urges candidates to arrive at their centres at least one hour before the exam, which starts at 8:00 a.m.

JAMB also revealed that it has suspended or delisted 113 Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres due to malpractices discovered during the 2025 UTME. Some candidates may be reassigned to nearby centres because of this, and JAMB has asked for their understanding. The board is also cracking down on exam malpractice syndicates, including some school owners, tutorial centres, and even a few JAMB officials.

For students, parents, and guardians, this mop-up exam is a second chance to ensure no one misses out on their opportunity to pursue higher education. Candidates are encouraged to check their status, prepare well, and follow all instructions to avoid issues on exam day.
