The University of Uyo (UNIUYO) has officially announced that all student hostels will reopen on Wednesday, 12th November 2025. The information was contained in a memorandum from the Student Affairs Division, signed by Ekwere Offonmbuk M., Principal Assistant Registrar.
According to the memo, students travelling from distant locations will be allowed to check into their assigned hostels before the official reopening date. This early access is intended to reduce accommodation pressure and enable returning students to settle in comfortably ahead of academic resumption.
Approved Hostels for Temporary Check-in
The university management has approved specific hostels for students who wish to check in early:
- Male Students: W5 Hostel
- Female Students: W2A Hostel (entry only with a valid Allocation Slip)
Students must comply strictly with hostel regulations, present valid allocation documents, and maintain discipline and cleanliness within the hostel premises.
Advisory from the Student Affairs Division
The Student Affairs Division advises all returning students to move into their hostels responsibly and begin preparations for the commencement of lectures. Early arrivals are urged to cooperate fully with hostel supervisors and follow university rules on conduct and safety.
EducationNGR also learnt that UNIUYO’s management is taking proactive steps to ensure the smooth reopening of hostels, prioritizing student welfare and readiness for the new academic session.
Closing Note
Students are reminded that compliance with hostel procedures is mandatory for all occupants. The University of Uyo remains committed to providing a safe and conducive living environment that supports both academic excellence and personal development as the 2025/2026 session begins.
