The University of Port Harcourt, (UNIPORT) has denied circulating social media claims of ongoing recruitment, labeling them as false and warning the public against potential scams.
The University of Port Harcourt has refuted claims circulating in the media about ongoing recruitment at the institution.
In a statement released on Monday by the university’s spokesperson, Dr. Sam Kpenu, UNIPORT addressed reports on social media falsely alleging that the university is recruiting both teaching and non-teaching staff.
Kpenu clarified that the university has not issued any such recruitment advertisement, calling the claims misleading and attributing them to fraudulent individuals.
“The attention of the University of Port Harcourt management has been drawn to a circulating social media publication suggesting the university is hiring staff. “We want to firmly state that these claims are false.
The public is advised to disregard these deceptive publications, which are likely created by scammers targeting unsuspecting individuals,” the statement read. Kpenu further emphasized that any official recruitment would be announced through credible media outlets and the university’s official website, www.uniport.edu.ng, not on social media platforms.
