Overview of the UNIMAID 2025/2026 Academic Calendar

The University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID), through the Office of the Registrar, has published the approved academic calendar for the 2025/2026 session. According to information also confirmed by EducationNGR, the schedule outlines when lectures begin, when examinations will hold, and when the academic year officially closes.
The calendar covers both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes for the entire session.

Key Highlights

  • Academic activities commence on 15 January 2026 (Week 2).
  • The calendar provides a structured breakdown for first and second semesters.
  • Postgraduate examination periods are clearly marked for both semesters.

First Semester Key Dates

The first semester runs from mid-January to May 2026. Major dates include:

  • 15 January 2026 – First Semester officially begins (Week 2)
  • 13 April 2026 – First Semester examinations begin (Week 16)
  • 8 May 2026 – First Semester examinations end (Week 19)

These dates show students when teaching is expected to wind down and when examination activities begin across the campus.

First Semester Postgraduate Examinations

Postgraduate students have a separate examination window:

  • 11 May 2026 – Postgraduate examinations begin (Week 20)
  • 22 May 2026 – Postgraduate examinations end (Week 21)

This timing allows postgraduate students to complete assessments shortly after undergraduate examinations conclude.

Second Semester Key Dates

Second semester activities begin immediately after the first semester wraps up:

  • 25 May 2026 – Second Semester begins (Week 22)
  • 24 August 2026 – Second Semester examinations commence (Week 35)
  • 24 September 2026 – Second Semester examinations end (Week 39)

These dates help students plan their lectures, academic workload, and revision periods for the second half of the session.

Second Semester Postgraduate Examinations

Postgraduate examinations for the second semester are scheduled as follows:

  • 5 October 2026 – Postgraduate examinations commence (Week 41)
  • 12 October 2026 – Postgraduate examinations end (Week 42)

This marks the final stage of assessment for postgraduate students for the academic year.

Official End of the 2025/2026 Academic Session

  • 23 October 2026 – The session officially ends (Week 43)

With this date, all teaching, examinations, and administrative academic activities for the session come to a close as UNIMAID transitions into preparations for the new academic cycle.

How Students Can Use the UNIMAID Academic Calendar

This academic calendar helps students:

  • Plan reading schedules and revision time
  • Track project and assignment deadlines
  • Organise travel and personal commitments
  • Stay aware of exam periods and semester transitions

By keeping these dates in view, every undergraduate and postgraduate student at UNIMAID has a clear roadmap for the entire 2025/2026 academic session.

UNIMAID 1st Batch Merit Admission List 2025/2026 Released

The UNIMAID Admission List for 2025/2026 first batch is now released. Candidates can check their admission status on the JAMB CAPS portal using their login details. Read on for the steps and advice on what follows after checking.

The University of Maiduguri has published its admission list for the 2025/2026 academic session. For many families, this is the point where waiting turns into either celebration or more patience. The list carries the names of those offered places into various first-degree programmes.

What the UNIMAID Admission List Means

This list is more than names on a page. It is a ticket into higher learning for some, and a reminder to hold on for others. Students who sat for the Post-UTME screening can now check their fate. Some will find their names right away, others may see “Not Admitted” or “Admission Still in Progress.” That means the door is not shut yet, so keep watching.

Steps to Check the UNIMAID Admission List

The admission status can only be checked on the JAMB CAPS portal for now. Here is how to go about it:

  • Visit the JAMB EFacility portal.
  • Log in with your JAMB username and password.
  • Scroll down to locate Check Admission Status.
  • Click on Access my CAPS.
  • Tap Admission Status to view if you have been offered admission into UNIMAID.

If admitted, do not delay the next actions.

What to Do After Checking

  • Send ACCEPT or REJECT to 55019 or 66019 using the phone number you registered with JAMB.
  • After accepting, print your JAMB admission letter.

For those checking with a phone, sometimes the CAPS page may show only a welcome note without options. To fix this, switch to desktop mode. If you are using Chrome, tap the menu and pick “Request Desktop Site.” That will reveal the full page.

University of Maiduguri Departmental Cut-Off Marks 2025/2026

University of Maiduguri has released the official cut-off marks for 2025/2026 admission. Each course has its own score for merit and others, and meeting it is required before post-UTME registration. See full list below.

The University of Maiduguri has set the bar for the new admission year. These cut-off marks are more than just numbers on a page — they are the line between “try again next year” and “welcome to campus.” Whether you are aiming for medicine, engineering, law, or any other field, you need to check your course’s mark before taking the next step.

Why It Matters

Each faculty and department has its own benchmark. There are two figures for each course — one for merit (usually higher) and another for other categories. If you fall below your course’s mark, you cannot proceed to the post-UTME stage.
