UI JAMB Cut-Off Mark for UI Admission

Let us start with the obvious. No matter how bright your WAEC scores look, or how strong your passion shines, you cannot be considered unless you scored 200 and above in JAMB. That is the bare minimum. Those below this mark are simply not eligible for Post UTME.

For those who scaled past that hurdle, the work is not yet done. Passing JAMB is only step one. Next comes the Post UTME screening, and this is where the real cut-off marks play their role.

Check: UI Post UTME Screening Exam Photocard for 2025/2026 Session

University of Ibadan has released the Post UTME screening photocard for 2025/2026. Candidates must reprint online to confirm their exam date, venue, and seat number before the test between 25–27 August 2025. Kindly read below for the steps and key notes.

The University of Ibadan, with its long-standing tradition of shaping minds, has called back its candidates again. This time, it is about the screening photocard. Every student who registered for the Post UTME must log in and reprint the slip. That small paper is the ticket to walk into the exam hall without stress.

The test itself is around the corner, set between Monday 25 August and Wednesday 27 August 2025. Three days, thousands of hopefuls, and one campus buzzing like a market on Friday morning.

Why The Photocard Matters

The photocard is not just a piece of paper. It carries the essentials that decide where you sit, when you write, and the exact hall you must enter. Inside, you will find:

  • Your JAMB details
  • Your photograph
  • Date of screening
  • Screening venue
  • Seat number

Without it, stepping into the exam venue is like showing up at the airport without a boarding pass. No entry.

Steps To Reprint The Photocard

It is a short process, but candidates must pay attention.

  • Visit the UI Post UTME portal.
  • Enter your JAMB Registration Number as Username.
  • Use your Surname as Password on first login.
  • Once inside, scroll down to see your exam details.
  • Click on Click here to print your photocard.
  • Print and keep it safe.

It looks simple, but one wrong detail can cost you peace of mind on exam day.

Extra Pointers Before The Exam

UI has warned about fraudsters who pose as helpers. If anyone promises admission for money, run fast. Admission passes only through official channels.

Also, exam halls are strict. Candidates are not allowed to bring calculators, mobile phones, or electronic devices. Just bring yourself, your writing materials, and that photocard. That’s all.

UI Protest Update Today: School Shuts Down Till Sept 23rd

The University of Ibadan (UI) has closed down for three weeks following protests against recent tuition fee hikes. This decision, effective from Saturday, 31st August 2024, was announced in a circular issued by the university management and signed by the Registrar, G.O. Saliu.

Notice: Reason for the Closure

The shutdown follows a meeting between the university’s management and the leadership of the Students Union.

The meeting was prompted by student protests over the increase in tuition fees.

Break to Facilitate Fee Payment

The three-week break is intended to give students enough time to pay their fees and complete their online registration.

As a result, the first semester examination, originally scheduled to begin on 2nd September, has been postponed to 23rd September 2024.

The registration portal will remain open until Friday, 20th September 2024.

After this date, the portal will close, and no further opportunities for fee payment or course registration will be provided.

Students who fail to register appropriately will be barred from taking their examinations.

All students are required to vacate the university campus by 2:00 PM on Saturday, 31st August 2024.

Solidarity from Other Institutions

The Students Union of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, has expressed support for the protesting students of the University of Ibadan.

In a statement released by OAU’s President, Omoboriowo Isaac, and General Secretary, Babatimehin Joy, the union criticized the UI management for failing to uphold promises made to students during earlier negotiations on 17th July.

The OAU Students Union described the new deadline for fee payment as unrealistic and impractical, especially given the current economic hardships faced by many students.

The union also criticized the short timeline for securing NELFUND loans, which the university management had proposed.

Call for Action

The OAU Students Union reiterated that the responsibility of funding education lies with the government.

They called for the funds earmarked for the loan scheme to be invested directly into universities instead.

The union urged the UI management to meet the students’ demands and called on the government to take its role in funding education seriously.

They also appealed to the National Association of Nigerian Students to join the fight for free education.

In their closing remarks, the OAU union encouraged UI students to remain steadfast in their opposition to the current fee regime and other anti-student policies.
