Overview of the 2nd Convocation

The 2nd Convocation Ceremonies of Thomas Adewumi University (TAU), Oko, Kwara State hold from Friday, 21 November to Wednesday, 26 November 2025. The week-long event gathers students, staff, families, alumni and friends across the East and West Campuses for activities centred on study, service, sports, culture, thanksgiving, research and awards. EducationNGR also learnt that the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Francisca Oladipo, PhD, FBCS, FNCS, FASI, FPASRC, will lead the ceremonies on behalf of the Board of Trustees, Governing Council, Senate, Congregation and students. Degrees and prizes will be presented as the university releases a new class of graduates into work, service and further study.

The Vice-Chancellor welcomes the public to join the celebrations.
The Convocation Lecturer is Dr. Bayo W. Olugbemi (f.csi, fccs, fca, fcim), Managing Director/CEO of First Registrars & Investor Services Ltd. His lecture is titled: Crowdfunding Opportunities for Startups: Equipping Nigerian Graduates for a Sustainable Future.

Immediately after the convocation lecture, the university proceeds to the formal Award of Degrees and Presentation of Prizes. Graduates receive their degrees, while prize winners are recognised in the presence of families, friends and university leadership.

Who Can Apply

The requirements are not vague. You must:

  • Score at least 150 in the 2025 UTME.
  • Have five O’Level credits, including relevant subjects, in not more than two sittings.
  • Ensure your UTME subjects match your chosen course.
  • Be ready to present your credentials before matriculation (awaiting result candidates can apply but must produce their results later).

Even if TAU wasn’t your UTME choice, you can still apply after doing a JAMB change of institution.

How to Apply

  1. Choose TAU as your first or second choice on JAMB.
  2. If you picked another school, switch to TAU via the JAMB portal.
  3. Visit the TAU application portal and follow the instructions.

Best to do it early — as we say, “shine your eye” before spaces get tight.

Thomas Adewumi University Receives NUC Approval for Medicine and Radiography Programmes
