Bandits Attack: TASUED Debunks False Rumour on Alleged Campus Closure

 University Addresses Viral Falsehood

Tai Solarin Federal University of Education (TASUED) has released an official statement to clarify a false social media report claiming that the institution was shut down following a bandit invasion in Ijebu-Ode. According to the university, the claim is completely untrue. EducationNGR also learnt that academic activities have continued without interruption.

What the False Report Alleged

The misleading online story suggested that:

  • Bandits invaded Ijebu-Ode

  • TASUED ordered students to vacate hostels in Ijagun and Ijebu-Ode

  • The university was forced to close its campus

h3: h3: Management’s Position on the Rumour

The University Management has firmly dismissed all these claims.
They describe the viral post as fabricated, misleading, and capable of causing unnecessary panic.
At no time did the university issue a directive for students to vacate hostels or suspend academic activities.

h2: Campus Situation: Calm and Fully Operational

Lectures, tests, administrative work, and student services are all running normally.
The university reports that Ijagun and Ijebu-Ode are calm and safe, with no security threat affecting the institution.

 Normal Academic and Administrative Activities

  • Students are attending classes

  • Offices remain open

  • Learning and research activities are ongoing

  • Support units are functioning as usual

The management encourages students, staff, parents, and the public to disregard the false rumour and remain confident in the university’s verified communication.

Safety and Student Welfare Still a Priority

TASUED emphasises that student welfare and campus safety remain central to its operations.
If any real security concern were to arise, the university would issue timely updates through proper and verified channels.

At this time:

  • There is no security alert affecting the school

  • There is no directive asking students to leave the hostels

  • Academic activities continue without disruption

Rely on Official TASUED Channels for Information

For accurate information, the public is advised to depend solely on:

Trusted Communication Platforms

  • Official management notices

  • Announcements made on TASUED’s authorised online platforms

  • Printed circulars displayed in recognised areas on campus

TASUED urges students and staff to ignore unverified screenshots, forwarded posts, or reports lacking an official source.
