KWASU Ilesha-Baruba Anounces Resumption 2025/2026

The management of Kwara State University (KWASU) has announced the commencement of academic activities at the Ilesha-Baruba Campus for the 2025/2026 academic session. This development marks another milestone in the university’s multi-campus system, established to expand learning opportunities and strengthen community development.

 

 

KWASU, founded in 2008 and operational since 2009, was established by an Act of Law to run campuses in MaleteOsi, and Ilesha-Baruba. While the Malete campus began operations at the inception of the university, the Osi campus started in the 2024/2025 academic session, housing the Faculty of Environmental Sciences.

KWASU Ilesha-Baruba Campus Set to Begin Operations

The university management has confirmed that the Ilesha-Baruba Campus is now fully prepared to host the Faculty of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine. The faculty will begin lectures this 2025/2026 academic session with students and staff from the following departments:

  • Crop Production
  • Animal Production
  • Fisheries and Aquaculture

Academic activities are scheduled to begin on Monday, 3rd November 2025.

The university has also assured staff, students, and parents that all necessary arrangements have been made to ensure a smooth and productive start at the new campus.

Kwara State University, Malete, has started receiving applications for its 2025/2026 undergraduate admission. If you’re planning to join KWASU, whether through UTME or Direct Entry, this is your chance to take the first step.

Who Can Apply?

KWASU is welcoming two groups:

  1. Candidates who chose the school during their JAMB registration
  2. Those who now want to switch to KWASU as their first choice

If you’re in the second group, you must first go to the JAMB portal and update your choice before beginning the KWASU application.

What Do You Need?

To qualify:

  • You must have five O’level credits in relevant subjects
  • Results can come from not more than two sittings
  • Those awaiting results can apply too, but your spot won’t be confirmed until your grades arrive

For the MBBS programme, the five credits must be in one sitting only

Screening Fee

The application costs ₦2,000. This fee is non-refundable, so double-check your info before you pay.

How to Apply for KWASU Admission

Here’s a simple guide:

  1. Go to the KWASU application page
  2. Click the “Undergraduate” link at the top
  3. Enter your JAMB registration number and click Continue
  4. Fill in your contact details
  5. Go to the payment section and click Make Payment
  6. Enter your debit card details (Visa, Mastercard, or Verve)
  7. Input the OTP sent to your phone
  8. After payment, log in again using your JAMB number and surname
  9. Click Login to dashboard and finish your registration
  10. Print out both the payment receipt and registration form

If your payment fails due to network issues, no need to panic. You can re-query the payment using your JAMB number and phone number on the same portal.

Application Deadline

Online registration opens Friday, 18th July 2025, and closes on Sunday, 17th August 2025. Don’t leave it till the last minute.

What Else You Should Know

  • Admission is based on 70% UTME/DE score and 30% O’level grades
  • Wrong details can get you disqualified
  • Final admission depends on meeting the school’s cut-off and available space

The management of the Kwara State University KWASU wishes to bring to the notice of prospective applicants for the 2024/2025 academic session, the following information;

  1. Applicants wha applied to KWASU and are yet to upload their O’Level results on the JAMB portal as at the time of application must proceed to JAMB office or any accredited CBT centres to upload their O’level results

  2. Also, applicants who initially applied for a programme on their JAMB portal but later changed ta a different programme on the KWASU portal must proceed to JAMB office or any accredited CBT centres to effect such change on their JAMB portal.

  3. All concerned applicants must comply with the above directives latest by Monday, 9th September, 2024.

Meet KWASU New SUG President – Kewulere Babatunde

For your Informaton: Kewulere Abdulafeez Babatunde of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, has emerged President of the Student Union of Kwara State University in an election that took place on Saturday, August 31, 2024.

The report of the Students Electiral Committee, which was signed by the Chairman, Toheeb Olamide Kolawole, and the Secretary Adegbola Abel, Ayomide, stated that Kewulere scored 3848 votes out of the 4632 votes cast.

Ireoluwa Oluwaseun Ogungboye emerged as the Vice President while Hameedat Oluwatimileyin Akanni was elected as the General Secretary, and Abdulquadri Abdulganiyu Babatunde emerged as the Treasurer.

Other elected KWASU SUG executive officers are

Bamidele Boluwatife Joseph, Financial Secretary;

Akinmboni Marcus Olamide, Social Director; Ezekiel Adeiza Aliyu, Public Relations Officer; and;

Khadijat Omobolanle Adeleke, Welfare Director.

Others are Ayodele Joshua Adedoyin, Auditor; Adeyiola Adam Babatunde, Sport Director; Nurudeen Teslimat Abiola, Assistant General Secretary; Benita Ifunaya Frank, Social Director 2; and, Adegoke Uthman Adedapo as the Welfare Director 2.
