Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the under-listed programmes in Lagos State University (LASU) Sandwich Degree programmes at Federal College of Education (Special), Oyo Centre for the 2025 modular year.
LASU-FCES Oyo Sandwich Degree Courses
Programmes available are B.Sc (Ed), B.A (Ed), and B.Ed in the following courses:
- B.Sc Education: Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Physical and Health Education, Health Education, Educational Technology, Computer Science Education
- B.Sc Education: Economics, Political Science, Geography, Business Education, Accounting Education
- B.A Education: History, Christian Religious Studies, Islamic Studies, French, English, Yoruba, Arabic
- B.Ed: Early Childhood and Primary Education, Guidance and Counseling, Educational Management
LASU-FCES Oyo Sandwich Degree Admission Requirements
General Basic Requirements
- English Language and Mathematics are compulsory for all courses
- Five (5) O’ Level Credits or TCII Merit Passes at not more than two (2) sittings, with two (2) subjects at A’ Level or NCE Merit Passes in relevant areas
- A University/Polytechnic two-year Diploma Certificate in the relevant area obtained at not less than Merit level
Specific Subject Area Requirements
- English Major: Credit passes in Literature in English and English Language at O’ Level or its equivalent
- Economics Major: Credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, and Economics
- Physical and Health Education, Social Studies, Political Science Major: At least a credit pass in English Language and Mathematics at O’ Level or its equivalent
- Health Education Major:
- A credit pass in English Language and Mathematics
- Holders of Staff Registered Nursing and Midwifery Certificates
- Diploma in Health Technology plus five (5) O’ Level credit passes including English Language are also eligible
- Advanced Diploma in Sports: From the Nigerian Institute for Sports is acceptable
- Mathematics and Science Major: Credit passes in Mathematics and English Language are compulsory
Other Acceptable Requirements
a) ICAN (Skill Level), Part II CIS, or equivalent are acceptable for Economics
b) Holders of certificates issued by recognised Arabic institutions who may not have written Arabic at SSCE/GCE O’ Level will be considered, provided they meet other entry requirements. NCE (Arabic) at Merit level is also acceptable
c) LASU may accept any other Arts/Social Sciences subject in lieu of Yoruba
d) Diploma in Health Education, Environmental Health, Physical Education, Social Work, or Health Administration with an overall grade of Merit plus three (3) O’ Level Credit/TCII Merit Passes (including English Language) are acceptable
LASU-FCES Oyo Sandwich Degree Course Duration
Four (4) Year Degree Programme
- Designed for candidates with NCE (Merit grade and above) or GCE A’ Level (E grade and above)
Five (5) Year Degree Programme
- Designed for candidates with WASC/SSCE/TCII and NCE who fall short of the entry qualifications for the four-year programme
