UNILAG has opened its inter and intra faculty transfer process for the 2025 session. If you plan to switch courses or move across departments, the form is out now and closes 5 September. Read on for the steps and where you can transfer.
The University of Lagos has thrown open the doors for students who want to transfer from one faculty to another. Maybe your current course feels like the wrong fit, or you just want a fresh start. Whatever the reason, the school’s now selling inter and intra faculty transfer forms for the 2025/2026 academic session.
Sales begin Monday, 21 July and close Friday, 5 September 2025. Don’t get caught snoozing.
Who Can Transfer?
UNILAG won’t let just anyone switch programmes. You need to tick these boxes:
- Must have completed 200 level by the end of 2024/2025
- Must have a minimum CGPA of 1.00
- Must have the right O’Level or A’Level subjects for the course you want
- Must provide your current result slip
So if you failed to show up in class last year or your GPA is scraping the floor, this route might not work for you.
Where You Can Transfer
Here’s a simple breakdown of who can go where:
From College of Medicine or Pharmacy
To:
- Faculty of Science
- Faculty of Education (Science, Tech & Vocational, Human Kinetics)
- Faculty of Social Science (Psychology)
From Faculty of Law
To:
- Faculty of Arts
- Faculty of Education (Arts, Social Sciences, Educational Foundations, Management)
From Engineering
To:
- Faculty of Management Sciences (Actuarial Science)
- Faculty of Education (Science or Technical Education)
- Faculty of Science (but not Biochemistry, Computer Science, Geoscience, Microbiology)
From Faculty of Science
To:
- Faculty of Social Science (Psychology, Geography)
- Faculty of Management Sciences (Actuarial Science)
- Faculty of Education (Science or Technical Education)
- Faculty of Science (same exceptions: no Biochemistry, Comp. Sci, Geoscience or Microbiology)
From Faculty of Arts
To:
- Faculty of Education (Arts, Social Sciences)
From Social Sciences or Management Sciences
To:
- Faculty of Arts
- Faculty of Education (Arts, Social Sciences, Educational Foundations, Management)
From Environmental Sciences
To:
- Faculty of Education (Science or Technical Education)
- Faculty of Science (except same four listed earlier)
How to Apply
Step 1: Confirm You Qualify
Read the rules and make sure you meet the conditions. Don’t waste ₦20,000 if you know it’s not going to fly.
Step 2: Start the Process Online
- Go to UNILAG website
- Log in to your student portal
- Click on the Inter/Intra Faculty Transfer section
- Fill out the form
- Generate a Payment Advice with your RRR number
- Pay ₦20,000 at any commercial bank
Step 3: Revisit the Portal
- Print the transfer form
- Attach these documents:
- O’Level or A’Level result
- Statement of result
- Form signed by your current and proposed HODs and Deans
- Make four copies and submit them to Academic Affairs, 6th Floor, Senate House, UNILAG
