The Governing Council of the Federal University of Lafia (FULAFIA) has officially appointed Professor Mohammed Isa Kida as the new Vice-Chancellor of the institution. Professor Kida, who currently serves as the Dean of the Faculty of Management Science, received his appointment letter from the Chairman of the Governing Council, Mrs. Lola Fibisola Akande.
During the presentation ceremony, the newly appointed Vice-Chancellor was joined by the outgoing Vice-Chancellor, Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman, alongside the Governing Council Chairman and the University Registrar, Mallam Nuradeen Abdu.
Details of the Appointment
According to the official letter, Professor Kida’s tenure will span a single term of five years, commencing on 11 February 2026. The appointment, dated 29 October 2025, reflects the Governing Council’s trust in his leadership abilities, academic excellence, and administrative experience.
The letter, signed by the Governing Council Chair, stated that Professor Kida is expected to leverage his expertise in management and academia to strengthen FULAFIA’s institutional structure, enhance administrative efficiency, and promote academic excellence.
