Screening Criteria

The screening exercise will be based on verified JAMB Scores and WAEC/GCE/NECO results, which must beĀ uploaded on the JAMB Central Admission Processing System (CAPS).

All applicants should bring along their original credentials for verification.

Eligibility

Candidates who did not select the University of Mkar during the JAMB UTME/DE can still apply.

These candidates must, however, effect aĀ Change of Institution/CourseĀ to the University of Mkar through the JAMB Portal as soon as possible.

Admission Requirements

To qualify for admission into LASUā€™s part-time degree programmes, applicants must meet certain requirements.

Direct Entry Requirements

Candidates with a Diploma Certificate (OND) from a government-approved polytechnic or those with an Upper Credit in LASU Diploma in relevant courses with the required five (5) Oā€™Level credits can apply for direct entry.

Method of Application

Follow these steps to apply:

  1. VisitĀ LASUā€™s e-payment platformĀ to pay a non-refundable fee of N20,000 for the application form.
  2. Fill in the application form online and upload all necessary credentials.
  3. Submit the completed form online and wait for the invitation to the screening process.

Successful candidates will then pay an acceptance fee of N30,000 and a medical fee of N30,000.

The application will remain open for six (6) weeks from the date of this publication.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS for Bingham University Postgraduate Admission

In addition to fulfilling the Departmental requirements for their programme, candidates must satisfy the under listed general requirements for admission into the Postgraduate School:

Candidates for Professional Master Degree must possess a minimum of Second Class Lower degree from Bingham University or any other university recognized by the Senate of the University.

Candidates for Master of Science (M.Sc) and Master of Arts (M.A) programmes, with first degree from Bingham University and other recognized Universities must possess a minimum of Second Class Lower in the relevant field.

Candidates with Master Degree from Bingham University and other recognized Universities must have a minimum CGPA of 3.00 or its equivalent in their Master Degree examination to qualify for admission into the Doctorate (PhD) Degree Programmes

This is to invite all First Choice UTME and Direct Entry (DE) candidates seeking for admission into the Sule Lamido University (SLU) Kafin Hausa for the 2024/2025 Academic Session to register for the 2024/2025 Online Admission Screening as detailed below.

ELIGIBILITY FOR SLU Post-UTME/DE SCREENING

UTME Candidates MUST have passed a minimum of 5 relevant subjects, at credit level in the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) or equivalent in not more than two (2) sittings, including English Language and Mathematics.

Direct Entry Candidates MUST possess a minimum of Lower Credit in the National Diploma, a Merit in NCE and 7 points in the IJMBE Advanced Level.

Interested UTME Candidates who did not choose Sule Lamido University Kafin Hausa as their First Choice Institution but wish to study in the University and scored 140 and above in the 2024 UTME, should change to the SLU via JAMB website (www.slu.edu.ng) and choose any of the programmes listed in the attached image.

REGISTRATION FOR SLU Post-UTME/DE SCREENING

Online registration for the Screening Exercise for both the UTME and DE candidates will commence on Monday, 16th September, 2024 and end at midnight of Monday, 30th September, 2024.

To register for the exercise, follow the procedures below:

  1. Visit the Sule Lamido University Kafin Hausa website at www.slu.edu.ng and navigate to admissions and select online application or visit admissions.slu.edu.ng select UTME or Direct Entry (DE)

  2. Log in using your UTME number and UTME score (UTME applicants) or DE number, state of origin and gender (DE applicants) and upload your passport-sized photograph.

  3. Update your profile with the required accurate information.

  4. Update your ā€˜Oā€™ Level Examinations, maximum of two sittings. After saving the information, upload a clean, clear scanned copy of your SSCE (for UTME Candidates) statement of result (s).

  5. After step 4 above, DE candidates will then proceed to upload their SSCE and ā€˜Aā€™ Level Result.

  6. Go to “POST-UTME payment” and click on “Pay Now” to pay directly with your card or click on “Download Payment Schedule” to generate, download and print a payment schedule that contains all the information for the payment. All candidates are to pay the sum of Two Thousand Naira (ā‚¦2,000.00) only (exclusive of REMITA charges) as Online Post-UTME/DE Screening Fee via any Commercial Bank, Debit Card or Remita Website.

  7. After successful payment, you then generate, download and print the “Acknowledgement Slip” to complete your registration.

Successful admitted Candidates must present the originals and photocopies of the following documents during registration:

  1. Acknowledgement Slip

  2. Evidence of Payment

  3. UTME Result/DE Registration Slip

  4. SSCE Statement(s) of Result

  5. Two recent passport-sized photographs with white background

  6. Certificate of Indigeneship

  7. Birth Certificate or Declaration of Age

  8. ‘A’ Level Statement of Result (for DE candidates only)

Any candidate who wishes to change his choice of Institution or programme, using the JAMB Green Card, should do so within the stipulated period of the two weeks online registration, that is Monday, 16th September, 2024 through midnight of Monday, 30th 2024.

Any candidate who fails to register for the online screening exercise on the scheduled dates will not be considered for admission into the University during the 2024/2025 Academic Session.

The University of Port Harcourt hereby notifies candidates who chose the University as first choice in the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and obtained a minimum score of 160 that the UNIPORT Post-UTME Screening Exercise has been scheduled and admission form is currently on sale.

IMPORTANTĀ DATESĀ ANDĀ REGISTRATIONĀ PROCEDURE

ā€¢Eligible candidates are to input UTME Registration Number and confirm pre-loaded UTME details.

ā€¢Generate Remita code for payment with your master, visa or verve card etc OR Printout Payment Slip and proceed to any of the following Banks with Remita platform (ACCESS BANK PLC, ECOBANK PLC, FIDELITY BANK PLC, FIRST BANK PLC, FCMB, UBA PLC, AND UNIPORT-CHOBA MICROFINANCE BANK) and make payment of N2,000.00 only.

ā€¢Obtain a Remita receipt showing an Access Code from the Bank teller confirming the payment.

ā€¢Proceed back online and Login with your UTME Registration Number and the Access Code on the payment slip.

ā€¢Complete the Form online as requested. Print Photo Card for the Screening Exercise clearance.

ā€¢Reprint Photo Card a day to the examination.

ā€¢Note the date and time of Screening on the Photo Card.

ā€¢CANDIDATES WHO FAIL TO REGISTER WITHIN THE REGISTRATION PERIOD WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE SCREENING EXERCISE.

 

MATERIALSĀ NEEDEDĀ FOR UNIPORT POST–UTMEĀ SCREENINGĀ EXERCISE

Candidates are required to come with the following:

A clear copy of the Photo Card printed online and pen.

NOTE:

ā€¢Inconsistency in name or picture on Registration Slip is not acceptable to the University and may lead to disqualification of affected candidates.

ā€¢Candidatesā€™ names on their Oā€™Level Certificates, UTME Results and other registration documents must be the same. Candidates MUST be sixteen (16) years of age or above by October 2024, to be eligible for the exercise.

ā€¢Mobile Phones, iPad, iPod, Walkman and similar gadgets or any extraneous materials will not be allowed into the Screening Venue and its environs.

ā€¢Candidates must apply within the Registration Period as the online link for the Application Form will be disabled at MIDNIGHT OF THURSDAY, 19TH SEPTEMBER, 2024.

ā€¢Registration is online; therefore, candidates are not expected to be present physically on the University Campus, but advised to register from any location.

ā€¢Candidates who chose the University as second choice and wish to be considered for admission can apply for the Screening Exercise ONLY when they have made a change to the University of Port Harcourt as their First Choice. Such change must be made latest MONDAY, 16TH SEPTEMBER, 2024.

ā€¢Candidates must ensure that their Oā€™Level results are uploaded to JAMB website as soon possible as those who do not, will not be considered for admission.

ā€¢Candidates must ensure that they register with their own valid personal telephone (GSM) numbers and email addresses.

ā€¢Candidates must report to the designated Screening Venues at the time scheduled on the Photo Card or risk disqualification.

ā€¢PARENTS AND GUARDIANS, AS WELL AS UNINVITED SECURITY AGENTS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED INTO THE CAMPUS ON THE DAYS OF THE SCREENING EXERCISE.
