This is to inform the general public especially prospective PUTME/Direct Entry candidates that Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike, FUNAI, Ebonyi State, deadline for the 2024/2025 PUTME/ Direct Entry online screening registration exercise, earlier scheduled to close on Sunday, 8th September 2024 has been further extended.

The extension became necessary as a result of increasing public requests to enable prospective applicants who were yet to upload their O’Level results on JAMB Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) to do so.

  3. Upon logging in, click the “Take Exam” button to access the examinations instructions page where you would be required to follow the steps:

  5. Launch the downloaded configuration file to start your examination, then click “Enter” to start your assessment.

D. General Examination Instructions

  1. This is a competitive qualifying aptitude test. candidates must conduct themselves accordingly. Candidates are advised to have a reliable internet connection before attempting the online aptitude test.
  2. Candidates’ activities during the period of the aptitude test will be monitored and recorded. Candidates will be required to attempt the test with a webcam and microphone enabled device. (Use of mobile phones for the aptitude test is not supported).
  3. Candidates are not allowed to cover their webcams during the period of the aptitude test. Our inability to see the candidate at any time during the test may result in disqualification.
  4. During the aptitude test, candidates are not permitted to leave their seating position. Please adequately prepare before commencing the test.
  5. Candidates may not be assisted during the period of the screening exercise. Nobody is permitted to be around a candidate during the period of the test, not even family members. Candidates may be disqualified if anybody is seen around them during the test.
  6.  The duration of the aptitude test is 60 minutes. The time starts to count immediately, and candidates click the start button and continue to count even if they log out before the 60 minutes lapses.
  7. Do not read the questions out during the aptitude test. This may result in disqualification.
  8. In the event that you run out of time, the aptitude test will automatically be submitted.
  9.  Use of earpiece, headphones, facemask or face caps during the examination is prohibited.
  10. Candidates should note that they can only commence the examination at their scheduled time.

Documents Leaks: LASU VC Sanctions Prof. Biodun Adewuya

The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM, has approved the interdiction of the Provost of the Lagos State University College of Medicine (LASUCOM), Prof. Biodun Adewuya, on grounds of insubordination, unauthorized disclosure of official information, actions prejudicial to the security of the University and the State, divided loyalty, and conduct unbecoming of a public officer.

These actions, according to a memo with reference number LASU/ASE/PF/3394, dated 30th August 2024, constitute serious misconduct and are in violation of the University’s regulations as stipulated in Chapter 3, Sections 3.6 and 3.8 (3.8.1) of the Conditions of Service for Senior Staff (September 2017).

Prior to the interdiction, Prof. Adewuya had been issued two separate queries regarding the allegations, to which he provided responses. However, the Vice Chancellor deemed these responses unsatisfactory and unacceptable and, as such, has referred the case to the Joint Council-Senate Disciplinary Committee for further investigation.

The interdiction of Prof. Adewuya is effective from 3rd September 2024 and will last for an initial period of three (3) months, during which time he is relieved of all official duties as a member of staff of Lagos State University and as Provost of LASUCOM, in accordance with Chapter 3, Section 3.9.7 (e) of the University’s Conditions of Service for Senior Staff.

In the interim, the Vice Chancellor has approved the appointment of Prof. Olufemi Emmanuel Idowu, the Deputy Provost of LASUCOM, as Acting Provost with effect from Tuesday, 3rd September 2024.

Prof. Idowu, from the Department of Surgery, Faculty of Clinical Sciences, will serve in this capacity pending the outcome of the investigation by the Joint Council-Senate Disciplinary (Academic) Committee concerning Prof. Adewuya.

To qualify for admission one most possesses the following: NCE with distinction, credit or merit in the major subjects, or Diploma in Education with Distinction or Credit, plus a minimum of 5 credits in the SSCE/WASC/NECO/GCE O’ Level in relevant subjects or Grade II Teachers’ Certificate with a minimum of merit grade in at least 5 relevant subjects.

The Sandwich Unit is managed by the Coordinator who coordinates its affairs, chairs its departmental board, and liaises with the Chairman, Sandwich Management Board and the University administration on behalf of the Unit.

Members of staff (both academic and non academic) are assigned certain functions and responsibilities to execute for the smooth running of the Unit; and all members of staff are answerable to the coordinator. Graduation Requirements For the award of B.Tech (Ed)/B Ed. (Hons.) a candidate must have passed all prescribed and registered courses.

With a minimum/maximum of 20 / 24 units to be registered in any contact. A candidate is expected to have registered and passed at least/most 110 units / 155 units, with a CGPA of not less than 1.00.

A written project and 15 major component of a student’s graduation requirements as well.

University of Ilorin, UNILORIN Commences NELFUND loan Disbursement to Beneficiaries 2024. This is to inform the University Community, especially students who applied for loans under the Federal NELFUND Scheme for the 2022/2023 academic session, that the University has received payment of the sum of

N52,897,890 (Fifty-Two Millon, Eight Hundred and Ninety-seven Thousand, Eight Hundred and Ninety Naira) only

from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) for disbursement to the successful applicants.

It should be noted that the beneficiaries had already paid their school fees for the 2022/2023 Academic Session before the University received payment from NELFUND. Hence, it should not be construed by students that subsequent disbursements would be made directly to them. Therefore, the loans cover the beneficiaries’ school fees.

In view of the above development, the Dean Student Affairs Unit is by this memo enjoined to collaborate with the University Bursar to ensure the prompt disbursement of the loans to the respective beneficiaries.

c. Holders of Higher National Diploma (HND) with at least an upper credit from a recognized Institution in Agriculture or related disciplines may be considered;

d. HND holders with lower credit with relevant post-qualification experience; and

e. Holders of other qualifications which may be acceptable to the Academic Board.
