Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, has released its official resumption date and other key activities for the 2025/2026 academic session. The decision came after the Academic Board met in an emergency sitting on Monday, 4th September 2025.

According to the timetable signed off by the Director of Academic Planning, students now have a clearer path for the year ahead.

Kogi State Polytechnic Resumption Date

The registration exercise starts on the very day of resumption, 15th September, and runs till 10th October 2025.

  • Late registration, which attracts a fee of ₦5,000, will be open between 13th and 17th October 2025.

The Polytechnic has also lined up orientation and matriculation ceremonies for newcomers. These will take place between 27th and 29th October 2025.

This stage officially welcomes new students into the fold, giving them a taste of campus life before the heavier academic load kicks in.

Rector’s Message

The Federal University Dutsin-Ma (FUDMA) has announced that the screening and registration exercise for newly admitted students will start on Monday, 8th September 2025. The exercise will take place at the Old ICT, Take-off Campus, running daily from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Univerisity of Uyo - UNIUYO
UNIUYO Announces Amnesty Programme for Outstanding Courses 2025

University of Uyo has rolled out an Amnesty Programme for students admitted since 1995 who could not graduate due to some outstanding courses. The offer applies to those with less than 24 credit hours left and excludes expelled students. Read on for eligibility, cost, and schedule details.

The Senate of the University of Uyo has given its nod to a new Amnesty Programme, a chance for long-standing students to finally complete their studies. At its 133rd meeting on Wednesday, 30th April 2025, the Senate resolved to open a window for those admitted from the 1995 session onwards but left stranded with unfinished courses.

This is not a free ride, but a structured path. Only those with failed courses not exceeding 24 credit hours can apply. Anything above that, and the offer does not stand.

Who Can Apply for the Amnesty

The conditions are clear, but let’s break them down:

  • Students admitted to UNIUYO from 1995 onwards who could not graduate.
  • Only for first-degree programmes.
  • Candidates must be eager to return and complete their studies.
  • Students previously expelled are not covered.
  • A maximum of 24 credit hours can be registered, spread across first and second semesters.
  • Payment is fixed at ₦25,000 per course.

It’s worth stressing that this is not an open-ended gesture. It is targeted, specific, and comes with rules.

How the Programme Will Run

The Amnesty Programme will take place during the long vacation before the start of the 2025/2026 academic year. The breakdown is as follows:

  • Publicity period: Monday, 1st – Sunday, 7th September 2025.
  • Teaching and revision: Monday, 8th September – Sunday, 4th October 2025.
  • Examinations: Monday, 6th – Saturday, 18th October 2025.
  • Result computation and graduation processing: Monday, 20th – Friday, 24th October 2025.

Teaching is slated to be intensive, four weeks of lectures, followed by two weeks of exams. Grades from this programme will be merged with whatever the student had before leaving.

Payment Method

Interested students must pay all charges via the UNIUYO e-portals and present the official receipts at the Bursary Department for confirmation. No shortcuts.

Who Can Apply

Here’s the breakdown of who the College is looking out for:

  • Degree applicants: Must have scored 180 and above in the 2025/2026 JAMB exam.
  • NCE applicants: Need at least 100 and above in the same exam.
  • Non-JAMB applicants: Those who didn’t sit for JAMB but want to study NCE at the College can still buy the form. Just head to the Bursary Department on campus and pay ₦5,000.
  • Other institution candidates: If you originally picked another school but wish to move to Gindiri, you can. The portal allows you to apply, but you’ll need to make a change of institution on the JAMB portal.
  • Professional Diploma in Education (PDE): Forms are also still available for interested candidates.

UNIABUJA Important Notice to all 2025/2026 Direct Entry Candidates

University of Abuja has issued an important notice to all Direct Entry applicants for the 2025/2026 session. Candidates are to verify their certificates at their former schools and ensure clearance on the JAMB portal. Kindly follow the outlined steps below.

The University of Abuja has sounded a clear call to its Direct Entry candidates. If you’re among those hoping to join the university for the 2025/2026 academic year, there’s a small but serious task you must complete. It’s about your certificates, and the school is saying without this step, you won’t be cleared on their portal.

It may look like routine paperwork, but in truth, this can make or break your admission process.

What UNIABUJA Direct Entry Applicants Must Do

Here’s the path you’re expected to follow, plain and simple:

  • Go back to the school where you got your First Degree, NCE, A-Level, or any other result.
  • Ask for your certificate to be verified.
  • Make sure it is uploaded and approved on the JAMB (NIPEDS) portal.
  • An official email must have reached your former school about this process, so follow it up.

Missing this step means no clearance on the university’s system, no matter your scores or efforts.

Why It Matters

Universities are careful with credentials these days. UNIABUJA is stressing that every certificate must be checked from the source before it can stand. It’s their way of keeping things clean and fair for all.
