Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU), Bauchi, has approved a revised version of the Second Semester 2024/2025 Academic Calendar. The revision was necessitated by the recent two-week industrial action by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) and an additional one-week extension for the marking exercise.
The approval, granted by the Vice-Chancellor on behalf of the Senate, aims to ensure smooth coordination of academic activities and maintain consistency across departments and faculties.
Revised ATBU Academic Calendar Highlights
Below are the key dates and activities for the Second Semester of the 2024/2025 academic session:
- Board of Studies (Department, Faculty & College): Monday, 3rd – Thursday, 6th November 2025 (4 weeks)
- Senate Business Committee: Friday, 7th – Wednesday, 12th November 2025 (4 working days, excluding weekend)
- Senate Business Committee Corrections of Results: Thursday, 13th – Friday, 14th November 2025 (2 working days)
- Senate Examinations Meeting: Monday, 17th November 2025 (1 working day)
- Vacation (All Students): Monday, 29th September – Friday, 26th December 2025 (13 weeks and 3 days)
- Academic Staff Annual Leave: Tuesday, 18th November – Friday, 31st December 2025 (6 weeks)
- 2025/2026 Academic Session Commences: Monday, 2nd January 2026
