About the NLNG Undergraduate Scholarship Scheme

The 2025 NLNG Undergraduate Scholarship Scheme supports high-performing first-year students in Nigerian universities. It is part of NLNG’s contribution to education and human-capital development, helping young scholars manage the financial demands of higher education.

The scheme aims to:

  • Reward strong academic excellence

  • Support students in public (federal and state) universities

  • Build a pool of capable graduates who can contribute to national development

The award is strictly for first-degree students in federal and state-owned universities.

Who Can Apply for the 2025 Scholarship

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Be Nigerian citizens residing in Nigeria

  • Be full-time first-year undergraduates in the 2025/2026 academic session

  • Be enrolled in a federal or state university

  • Have at least five O’Level credits in one sitting, including Mathematics and English

  • Score 200 and above in the 2025 UTME

  • Be between 18 and 25 years old

  • Not be receiving any other scholarship or bursary

  • Not be related (spouse, child, ward, direct relative) to an NLNG staff member

Only candidates who meet all requirements will move to the next stage.

Step-by-Step Application Guide

Online Application on the NLNG Scholarship Portal

Applications are completed online. Candidates should:

  1. Visit the official NLNG undergraduate scholarship portal

  2. Fill in all required information accurately

  3. Review entries carefully to avoid mistakes that may affect screening

Documents to Upload

Applicants must upload clear scanned copies of:

  • A recent passport photograph (no glasses)

  • WAEC/NECO/SSCE result (minimum five credits in one sitting including Maths & English)

  • JAMB UTME result slip

  • JAMB admission letter

  • LGA identification letter

  • Birth certificate

Only complete applications with valid email addresses will be processed.

Test, Screening, and Award Process

  • Only shortlisted candidates will receive invitations for a computer-based online proctored test.

  • Test details will be sent via email—candidates should monitor both inbox and spam folders.

  • Those who pass will proceed to a second document-verification stage.

  • Final awards will go to applicants who meet all requirements and pass every stage.

  • Closing Date: 12 December 2025, 11:59 p.m. (WAT)

Late applications will not be processed. Students are advised to submit early to avoid last-minute issues.
